<p><span style="font-size: small;">The </span><span style="font-size: small;">Cardiff</span><span style="font-size: small;"> based arts collective </span><span style="font-size: small;">‘</span><span style="font-size: small;">Peaceful Progress</span><span style="font-size: small;">’</span> <span style="font-size: small;">have</span><span style="font-size: small;"> transformed an old Boiler House into </span><span style="font-size: small;">Wales</span><span style="font-size: small;">’ first dedicated Graffiti and </span><span style="font-size: small;">Street</span> <span style="font-size: small;">Art</span> <span style="font-size: small;">Gallery</span><span style="font-size: small;">.</span> <span style="font-size: small;">The Boiler House </span><span style="font-size: small;">includes</span><span style="font-size: small;"> a </span><span style="font-size: small;">large indoor graffiti gallery space</span><span style="font-size: small;">, </span><span style="font-size: small;">over 10</span><span style="font-size: small;">0ft</span><span style="font-size: small;"> of outdoor wall space, a shop and a studio. </span><span style="font-size: small;">This </span><span style="font-size: small;">innovative</span><span style="font-size: small;"> project provides a legitimate space for graffiti artists to reach a wider audience and showcases Graffiti </span><span style="font-size: small;">art </span><span style="font-size: small;">as a positive </span><span style="font-size: small;">and sustainable </span><span style="font-size: small;">art-form.</span><span style="font-size: small;"> Through workshops with Schools and Community Centres the Boiler House will inspire young people to get creative, and will be especially good at </span><span style="font-size: small;">engaging with hard to reach groups of young people.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">The Boiler House will hold</span><span style="font-size: small;"> monthly exhibitions featuring the best of </span><span style="font-size: small;">local</span><span style="font-size: small;"> and </span><span style="font-size: small;">national </span><span style="font-size: small;">Graffiti artists</span><span style="font-size: small;">. The </span><span style="font-size: small;">independent </span><span style="font-size: small;">shop</span><span style="font-size: small;"> is open to the public and</span><span style="font-size: small;"> stocks original </span><span style="font-size: small;">and </span><span style="font-size: small;">affordable canvas work by </span><span style="font-size: small;">graffiti </span><span style="font-size: small;">artists </span><span style="font-size: small;">based </span><span style="font-size: small;">in </span><span style="font-size: small;">South Wales</span><span style="font-size: small;">.</span> <span style="font-size: small;">The grand</span><span style="font-size: small;"> opening is on the 27</span><sup><span style="font-size: xx-small;">th</span></sup><span style="font-size: small;"> February</span><span style="font-size: small;">,</span> <span style="font-size: small;">from </span><span style="font-size: small;">12pm</span><span style="font-size: small;"> – </span><span style="font-size: small;">10pm</span><span style="font-size: small;">, </span><span style="font-size: small;">c</span><span style="font-size: small;">ome down and </span><span style="font-size: small;">experience counter culture at its best.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: small;">Peaceful Pr</span><span style="font-size: small;">ogress was founded by Graffiti a</span><span style="font-size: small;">rtist Bryce Davies</span><span style="font-size: small;"> in 2000</span><span style="font-size: small;">, and now represents a number of artists and performers based in </span><span style="font-size: small;">South Wales</span><span style="font-size: small;">.</span> <span style="font-size: small;">Peaceful Progress were responsible for the Fair Play festival held in Canton in 2008/2009 which raised over £1000 for War on Want</span><span style="font-size: small;"> (08)</span><span style="font-size: small;"> and the The </span><span style="font-size: small;">SAFE</span><span style="font-size: small;"> Foundation</span><span style="font-size: small;"> (09)</span><span style="font-size: small;">. Currently Peaceful Progress run the monthly ‘Dub in the Pub’ nights at the Lansdowne Pub and the group tour </span><span style="font-size: small;">the </span><span style="font-size: small;">festival circuit throughout the summer with the Peaceful Progress </span><span style="font-size: small;">Graffiti Tent.</span><span style="font-size: small;"> The Boiler House is </span><span style="font-size: small;">a community based</span> <span style="font-size: small;">project </span><span style="font-size: small;">to </span><span style="font-size: small;">bring people of all ages and backgrounds together through Graffiti art.</span></p>
