Pete Nash is an artist/sculptor originally from Carlisle.  Having done a model making course in Kent at KIAD, Pete moved to Sheffield and did Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam.

The unique chess sets that Pete makes are created solely from reclaimed pieces of timber and uses traditional carving and finishing techniques.  Pete decided to use his skills as a sculptor to make chess sets when a neighbour of his saw a set he had made for himself and commisioned him to make a unique set as a Christmas gift.  Pete now has started a small industry of his own with his own website where one can have a bespoke chess set made.  If you have an idea for a set of your own you can contact Pete via his website: www.uniquechesssets.co.uk
